This kit comes with two super bright Cyclone LED lights that we'll mount under the hood to make it easier when working under the hood, and it comes with its own wiring harness for an easy installation. Today, we're gonna install it on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
Tools you'll need for this installation, 3/8" ratchet, 10mm socket, a tape measure, marker, a drill, 1/8" drill bit, Phillips head screwdriver, and safety glasses.
This kit comes with two lights which you can mount anywhere under the hood. You want to find some place that'll light up the whole entire area evenly. We're gonna mount ours five inches above the sprayer nozzle on each side, and that should light up the whole underside of the hood pretty evenly.
We're gonna mark up our holes before we do any drilling. That'll be five inches above the washer nozzle. We're gonna drill out the holes with an 1/8" drill bit, and you might want to put some tape around the drill bit, just so you don't shoot through the metal and go through the other side of the hood. You don't want to damage the other side.
It's time to install the lights. Put the nylon washer in the center of the light, then put the screw through it, then you can screw the light into the hole you just drilled. There we go.
This kit does come with its own wiring harness, so we're gonna run the wires up through this portion of the hood to this light, and then run it across to the next light, and then connect it to the battery. Once you get the wire to the light, connect the black wire to the black wire, and the red wire to the red wire. Now we can run the wire to the other light. This one should be a lot easier.
We're gonna loosen up the nut on the stud of the negative battery terminal, and then we're gonna remove the negative battery terminal. Set that aside, and then go over to the positive terminal. Loosen the nut on the stud on the positive terminal, then connect the red wire from the wiring harness to the stud. Reinstall the nut, and tighten it down. Then remove the nut from the stud on the negative terminal, place the black wire from the harness over the stud, and reinstall the nut and washer. Reinstall the negative terminal, and tighten it down.
Once you get everything connected, you can find a place to hide the wiring or mount the switch, and then you can test and see if it works.
Our KC under hood lights are installed. They're actually incredibly bright. They're really going to help out when you're working underneath the hood. Installation will take you about 45 minutes, and before you know it, you'll be heading off-road.
