Nikki: Because I’m running a Vortec V3 Supercharger, I went with a 3 inch system. As all MagnaFlows are, they are stainless steel, mandrel bent, and I went with a 4 inch tip.
Bill: For this installation, you need a lift or a jack and jack stands, 3 inch ratchet or impact gun 13mm socket, 15mm socket, exhaust hanger removal tool, and safety glasses.
Nikki: We’re going to start by disconnecting the X pipe from the tail pipe. Now we’re going to disconnect the tailpipe from the muffler. Now we’re going to remove the tailpipe. We’re going to remove the muffler from the factory hanger. Repeat the process to remove the passenger side exhaust.
Now we’re going to do our MagnaFlow installation. You want to start by first installing the front hangers and then continue with the rear. Before we install the tail pipe, make sure that you install the clamp onto the muffler.
Now you can install the tailpipe. Connect to the factory clamp.
Now we replace the factory hardware, just got to get it hand tight for now. Repeat the process on the other side.
Once everything is in place, you want to start by tightening the X pipe to the tailpipe. Now that the front is done, before we clamp down the back part, we want to make sure that the muffler is centered in the rear bumper. Once you're happy with the way the muffler looks, it’s time to tighten the clamp.
Now your installation is finished. Now that we have it installed, let’s see how it sounds.
Bill: As we’ve come to expect from MagnaFlow, the exhaust looks great and it sounds great too. Nikki, hey thanks for bringing your mustang out today.
Nikki: Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
