2015-2023 Mustang Antenna Removal
Last Updated August 8, 2023 | Bill TumasIf you're planning on wrapping your S550 Mustang or performing a Mustang antenna delete, chances are you'll have to remove the factory antenna. Removing your Mustang's antenna is also the first step in upgrading your signal reception. Our step-by-step process will show you how to remove your Mustang's stock antenna so you can move on to your next upgrade.
Parts and Tools Needed:
- 10 mm socket
- Panel Removal Tool
Step 1: Unhook Rear Window Trim
In the cabin at the base of the rear driver's side window, use either your hands or a panel removal tool to unhook the side panel clips. No need to remove it completely. Unclipping the front is enough.
Repeat this process for the passenger's side panel.
Step 2: Pull Back Headliner
Your S550 Mustang's headliner is held in place by both clips and magnets. To pull back the headliner, simply push your hand underneath to locate the clips.
Undo the clips and gently pull down on the headliner to release the magnets. Pull the headliner down enough to where you can access the roof above it.
Step 3: Detach Antenna
On the roof of your Mustang, unclip the antenna wire from the harness and pop out the plug holding the wire to the roof.
Unscrew the 10 mm bolt at the base of the antenna to release it. Once the antenna is free, push the housing and wire through the top.
Step 4: Pull Out Antenna and Wiring
Head to the outside roof of your Mustang and pull the antenna free from the top of the car. Make sure the connecting wire comes with it.
Congratulations, you're all done!
