Unscrew the two 8 mm bolts at the base of the subwoofer. Put the bolts aside for reinstallation.
Step 3: Remove Upper Bolts
Using a ratchet, unscrew the 8 mm bolts at the top of the subwoofer housing.

2015-2017 Mustang Subwoofer Removal Steps
Step 1: Unscrew Cover Plate
Remove the three T-20 Torx screws at the bottom of the cover plate with a socket wrench to loosen the cover plate from the subwoofer assembly. At the top of the cover plate is a single T-40 Torx screw. Remove that screw as well.
Step 2: Unscrew Assembly Base
Once the cover plate is removed, it will reveal two 13 mm bolts at the base of the subwoofer assembly. Remove these bolts to disconnect the subwoofer from the trunk.
Step 3: Unplug Subwoofer Housing
Remove the subwoofer housing from the cavity and turn it so it's face down. Unplug the amplifier from the speaker and set the entire assembly aside.
