The Ski Country Special Mustang was only available for the 1967 Mustang at ten dealers in the Denver area. This Mustang was upgraded for better winter driving which included snow tires, ski racks, and an equa-lock rear axle. The Ski Country Special came in five unique colors not available anywhere else.
The Sidewinder Special Edition Mustang was supposed to be a promotional vehicle with only 40 vehicles being produced. These special edition Mustangs featured a 351 4V engine and an automatic transmission known as Cruise-o-Matic.
Based on the legendary Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the SR-71 Mustang Special Edition featured a black and gray exterior paint along with a screen print glass roof design. This special edition Mustang was auctioned off for $375,000 to benefit the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh event.
Designed for those that wanted a little extra "attitude" the Stinger Edition Mustang featured some good exterior upgrades. The most interesting upgrades were found inside as the interior featured ostrich leather.
In 1982, Ford addressed the needs of the law enforcement community by offering a lighter, faster and more nimble vehicle than the one's police were using called the Special Services Package. The SSP Mustang featured a Foxbody platform with a 5.0 engine and automatic transmission.
