Today on CJ Off-Road we're going to make our 2017 Raptor see a whole lot better at night when it's out on the trail.

You can never have too much visibility when you're going off-road, and since our 2017 Raptor has a bumper that accepts a 40-inch LED light bar, it only makes sense to install one. So today we're going to be installing this Rigid Industries 40-inch radius LED light bar on our 2017 Raptor.

This light bar features a curved design to fit in nicely with the ADD bumper on the front of our Raptor. And it features 80 super-bright LEDs, putting out over 20,000 lumens, protected by a polycarbonate lens and a cast aluminum housing for maximum durability.

It even comes with a wiring harness to make installation a breeze, so today we're going to install it on our 2017 F-150 Raptor. Tools you'll need for this installation, 7/32" hex key, 11mm wrench, 13mm wrench, 9/16" wrench, and basic wiring tools.

The light bar we're going to be installing goes right here on the bumper. There are pre-drilled holes already in it, but to make install even easier, we picked up this ADD universal light mount kit. These are the brackets that we're going to be using from the light mount kit. We're going to put these right on the bumper.

We're going to put a bracket on each side of the bumper just like that. This part's going to be pretty difficult to see. I'm going to take the hardware that comes with the brackets. I'm going to put my hand through the back of the bumper, and push the bolt up through the hole.

Then put our washer and nut on. Do the same thing to the bracket on the other side. Put the light bar between the brackets. Ease the bolts that come with the light bar to install the brackets to the light bar. Install the second bolt. Install the two other bolts on the other side, and tighten them down. Tighten these bolts down with an 11mm wrench.

This next part is kind of tricky. We have to tighten the nut and bolt underneath the light bar. We're going to be using a 7/32" hex key and a 9/16" wrench. We have the light bar mounted. Now it's time for wiring. We're going to run this wire under the grille right here, have it come up right here from the battery, and then we're going to connect it to the first switch on our factory switch system.

The way the harness comes out of the box, we have just enough slack to ground it right to the battery, but we need to extend the power wire just a little bit to connect to that first wire for switch number one.

We have the battery disconnected. Now we're going to connect our ground wire to the ground lead on the battery. All we have to do now is hook up the power wire.

We have our wire around to the battery, but to play it safe, we're not going to be using just the factory wiring for this system. You have the potential to blow the fuse, so we're going to use the wiring that came with the light bar, and I'm going to show you where we're going to put all these wires. This red wire with the fuse, and the black wire, this is going to go right to the battery.

These three wires that originally connect to the switch that comes with the kit, we're going to use this blue wire and connect it to the blue and green wire which is the number one switch inside the truck, and then we're just going to tape off these black and red wires.

Okay, we got our relays sitting right here. We have our main ground hooked up to the battery and the main power hooked up to the battery. And we have our trigger wire hooked up to the switch number one, and now we can test out the light and see how it looks. All right, let's see how the light looks.

Okay, we got our Rigid Industries 40-inch light bar installed. It is incredibly bright. The headlights can't even compare to this thing. The Addictive Desert Design's mounting brackets made it install perfectly. Install's really not that bad. It should only take you about an hour, and before you know it, you'll be heading off-road.
