The best way to tell if you have a shallow cup or deep cup cap is to measure the distance from the retaining tabs to the sealing gasket. The shallow cup reach fuel cap has two retaining tabs on the back side that stick up about 1/4" from the sealing gasket. The alternative is a deep cup fuel cap which has tabs that stick out just under 1/2" from the sealing gasket.
