This pair of Chassis Jacking Rails (555-5207) from Steeda have been designed to be as lightweight as possible, but still durable enough to protect the underside of your convertible's rockers. They allow you to jack up your Mustang anywhere along the jacking rail without causing damage to the factory pinch welds. Steeda's jacking rails are made from the same material used to keep Fox Mustangs from flexing, and feature CAD-designed, laser cut steel brackets and robust 2” x 1” steel tubing. Steeda took an extra step to ensure the rails are durable by finishing them with a wrinkle black powder-coat that also helps them keep a low profile appearance and blend in with the underside of your pony.
*These jacking rails will only fit S550 Convertible Mustangs. A separate set of rails are available for Fastback Mustangs (5555205).

They have opened ends to avoid condensation which can lead to rust and include necessary hardware for installation along with these billet adapters specifically for use on the convertible. For this installation, [they-need 00:00:46] lift or a jack and jack stands, a 3/8" ratchet, and a 15mm socket. We begin the installation by getting the car off the ground and removing some factory hardware. It's going to be two bolts in the back here, then two more in the front. Now these front bolts, there should be two but it's not uncommon for the car to have less. I've seen some with one and some with none at all. Whatever you have, start by removing it. Now, we put our jacking rail up into place. Again, use the supplied hardware by Steeda.
The jacking rails are side specific. The small holed section goes in the front, and this bracket here where it's bent faces towards the center of the vehicle. What you want to do is line that up with the factory holes up front, and use the supplied short bolts. Just get them hand tight for now. The rear includes this billet spacer and then longer bolts. Alright, now you can tighten everything down. Sort of push it up. Now repeat the process on the other side, and your installation's finished. With the Steeda Low- Profile Jacking Rails installed on our convertible, now we can jack this car up anywhere along this pinch weld. It makes it much easier to get the car off the ground. The installation as you saw was very simple. It'll take about half an hour. You should be back on the road in no time.
