1967-1969 Mustang Scott Drake Cigarette Lighter Element/Knob Set

This Cigarette Lighter Element and Knob Set from Scott Drake will fit 1967-1969 Mustangs.

Replace the original cigarette lighter element and knob with this exact reproduction from Scott Drake. It fits the original lighter location in the ash tray for 1967-1968 Mustangs, and the console location in 1969 Mustangs.

1. This set of instructions shows how to remove an ashtray and install a Mustang Scott Drake Cigarette Lighter Element and Knob Set.

2. Firstly, open the ashtray, which is just to the left of the Mustang instrument panel area.

3. Press the center tab and pull the cover out.

4. Remove the three retaining screws and pull the ashtray bracket out.

5. Unscrew the inner portion of the Mustang cigarette lighter socket.

6. Push the inner portion of the lighter socket through the inside hole and secure by threading on the outer housing.

7. Insert the knob and reverse the process to reinstall the ashtray, with new cigarette lighter element and knob, into the Mustang interior. Remember to attach the wiring to the back of the lighter socket. The lighter circuit is protected by a 20A fuse in the fuse panel that serves both the lighter and the emergency lights flasher.

8. Now that you've completed the installation of your new Mustang Scott Drake Cigarette Lighter Element and Knob Set, smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.
