Product Description

Scott Drake Chrome Export Brace for 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustangs.

Reduce how much your vintage Mustang's chassis twists and moves around as you're accelerating by installing a new Scott Drake Export Brace. You'll enjoy a smoother driving experience, improve the rigidity of your Mustang's structure and firm up the front end. The difference between driving a Pony with an export brace and without one is quite noticeable. Combine this brace with a new Monte Carlo Bar and you'll be amazed at how much better the driving experience is overall.

- Manufactured from Heavier Gauge Steel That Greatly Reduces Twisting of the Chassis Under Hard Acceleration
- Will Strengthen the Front End and Reduce Shock Tower Fatigue and Cracking
- Direct Fit Replacement
- Perfect Reproduction of the Original that Installs in the Factory Location
- Will Install Without Any Modifications or the Need to Jump on the Front of Your Car to Install It

This Scott Drake C5ZZ-16A052-C Chrome Export Brace stands out from the rest thanks to the fact that it's made out of a heavier steel gauge than most of the other export braces on the market today and finished in heavy chrome, which means you'll enjoy years of shine and service. Your new export brace will greatly reduce the twisting of your chassis under hard acceleration, plus it'll strengthen the front end and reduce shock tower fatigue and cracking.

Scott Drake used the Ford print to make their export braces exactly like the original, meaning their braces actually fit without modification or the need to jump on the front of the car to install them. It's a perfect reproduction of the original that installs right in the factory location.

Scott Drake Export Brace Chrome 1965-1970 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth installation and chrome finish is very good Export brace installed with no problems at all. Dropped right in place. Very sturdy construction compared to other brands I have installed and the chrome plating was very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big difference Had to massage it into place which is not uncommon for this part, but went together fairly smooth and a big difference in drivability

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Chrome/ Rust Prone Over the last 5 years I have purchased 3 different chrome Export Braces from CJ Pony Parts. They all rust within a couple of years with a barely driven weekend car. The Scott Drake is the exact same as the Premium Chrome choice. They ARE the same brace so save your money. Same stamp machine, rough edges, poor chrome. Unfortunately no one makes a quality chrome export brace or stainless version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great Was a little bit more work to install, whoever owned the car before me welded the export brace in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value Looks really great, fits fine. I wanted to dress up the engine compartment.

Product Questions

Does it require a fitting kit? ie longer bolts for shock mounts.

Asked by: swoop02
The original hardware should work fine.

Will this Scott Drake Export Brace work with a Dynacorn Shock Tower Top-Chrome (P/N 3631E) and AMK Shock Tower Top Hardware (P/N F-3841)? What other hardware will be needed to install this brace?

Asked by: Scotta
It'll work. You'll just need the appropriate export brace mounting hardware for your Mustang.

My 65 Mustang has a two piece brace, where one end is welded to the shock tower and the brace bolted to it.  Will this brace fit over the shock tower stub end or does that have to be removed to install this brace?

Asked by: Dfrank770
Unfortunately, I'm having a great deal of difficulty visualizing your setup. I'd recommend that you give our Customer Care team a call (1-800-888-6473) and seek their input. They may ask you to email pictures to give them a better idea of what's going on before they can give a yes or no on whether it would work.

do you have to remove the original braces or can the export brace be mounted over them

Asked by: bert
If your Mustang came with an export brace (or had one added later on), this one would be a replacement.
