Scott Drake Neutral Safety Switch for 1967-1969 Mustangs Built After 12/15/1966 with a C4 or C6 Transmission.

This is a high-quality, original style replacement switch. Features two alignment holes like the original. Also known as a Backup Light Switch.

Tech Tip from CJ Pony Service: Make sure that you route the neutral safety switch wiring away from the exhaust. A common failure is caused by getting too close to the hot exhaust which can melt the wiring.

Chinese knock off.

No Alignment Holes

I bought mine after reading the reviews and the response by CJ stating that the switches are different but the one I got didn't have any alignment holes either. However, it works fine. I guess I lucked out with the install because it didn't need alignment and the neutral safety works correctly as do the reverse lights so no harm, no foul. One lost star for misrepresentation.

On the outside it seems well made, correct wire coding and high quality plug. However, it will not allow a start in Park but will in Neutral. I adjusted the linkage prior to installation and the safety switch in accordance with the shop manual and can not get it to start in Park. The Scott Drake unit only has one alignment hole. The original unit had 2.

Note from CJ's: This unit now comes from a different vendor. The new version functions properly and is the original style with 2 alignment holes.
