This switch will disable your Mustang from starting if your C4 or C6 automatic transmission is not in park or neutral. It will also activate your rear backup lights when you are in reverse. Remedy the activation of your reverse lighting in your 1966-1969 Mustang with a high-quality Neutral Safety Switch (C9ZZ-7A247-B) replacement. These switches were made obsolete by Motorcraft, however, CJ Classics has made them available and easily installed.

Tech Tip: Make sure that you route the neutral safety switch wiring away from the exhaust. A common failure is caused by getting too close to the hot exhaust which can melt the wiring.
