Steeda Tri-Ax Short Throw Shifter for 2005-2009 Mustang GTs.
Short throws, precise action, stop-bolts to prevent damage to the transmission and linkage under hard usage, our unique two-position handle height, and calibrated internal spring tension to assist you in never missing 3rd gear! This last feature is exclusive to the S197 Tri-Ax and not found in any other S197 shifter!
The factory steel mounting rail is replaced with a substantial billet beam for more positive location; and upgraded rear mounting bushings are supplied to further reduce deflection under hard shifting. The shifter base, handle, and beam are all CNC machined by Steeda from 6061 aluminum.
This will accept your stock knob or a 1979-2004 shift knob with 15mm x 1.75 thread. Most aftermarket knobs for 2005+ will not work.

2006 mustang GT
shifter installed fairly easy,3 gear is so easy, justs pops in place. The only problem I had is my Roush shifter knob would not screw on. Had to pit the stock gt leather shift knob back on. ?????? Don know why the Roush knob worked on the stock shifter but not on the steeda short throw shifter. If your thinking about bying this knob before installing a s.s.t.s. I would ask if whick knob will work with the s.s.t.s.
2006 Mustang GT
A superb replacement for the stock shifter. Removal and installation can be done through floor opening without dropping the drive shaft. Takes about 2 hours with car on jack stands. Steeda products may cost more than others but the quality is worth it! This shifter has a great notchy feel and when you bang those gears, there is no question which gear you're in. Works flawlessly, I highly recommend it!
