1967 Mustang Fuel Lines

Fuel Lines

Fuel lines are an important part of your 1967 Mustang. They ultimately feed fuel to the engine, which propels you down the road. The important part is also quite susceptible to wear and tear. In most vehicles, fuel lines travel under the vehicle from the gas tank to the engine. This leaves them exposed to the elements and susceptible to damage from debris and corrosion. Pay careful attention while starting and driving your Mustang. If you smell fuel in your pony, it’s a sign your 1967 Mustang fuel lines need repair. A suspected fuel leak is a serious situation, one that needs attention and repairing as quickly as possible.

1967 Fuel Lines

Checking Your 1967 Mustang Fuel Lines

If you suspect you have a problem with your 1967 Mustang fuel lines, there’s a few different parts of the fuel system you can inspect. Visually inspect the following and feel for leaks at all connecting points along the way.

• Check the fuel lines from the fuel pump to the carburetor. If there is a leak, you will probably see it.
• Visually inspect the tank and feel for leaks all the way around the sides and top of the tank. Sometimes there will be no sign of a leak in your driveway or garage because the leak may be on top of the tank. If you suspect a leak in the top of your gas tank, remove the tank and inspect it.
• If your tank is in good shape, continue visually inspecting and feeling along the way of your 1967 Mustang fuel lines all the way from the gas tank to the engine.
• Visually and manually inspect all grommets, seals and connections to check for leaks.
