This Black Molded Essex Carpet is made in the USA by ACC Carpets with high-quality materials that replace your 1971-1973 Mustang's old, worn out original carpets! This carpeting is available with or without mass backing and can fit either Convertible models or Coupe and Fastback models.

This Essex-style carpet is made using 100% nylon cut pile with more than 40% additional nylon fibers over the average aftermarket cut pile carpet. Normal cut pile carpet is 1/4 inch high, but Essex carpet is about 3/8 inches high. These features combine to create a super plush and incredibly soft upgrade to your ride's floors! Each piece has a molded 2-piece construction that is dyed black using the best, most steadfast dyes available. It's also tested for ozone humidity fading and light fastness.

This Essex-style carpet can be purchased to fit Convertible Mustangs specifically or to fit both Coupe and Fastback models. It can also come with or without mass backing, which will add rigidity and form to your new carpeting! Without mass backing, the carpet will have a 36-ounce jute padding that insulates. With mass backing, it also has a 40mil thick layer that allows it to keep its shape and maintain a perfect fit while eliminating the need for additional sound deadeners.

Please Note: ACC's carpets do not come with pre-cut holes, allowing you to make the necessary cuts only where needed for various interior components.

Tech Tip: When you first take your new carpet out of the box, you may notice quite a few wrinkles. This is normal. We recommend laying the carpet out in the sun for a few hours to help soften the jute backing and to help reduce the number of wrinkles that are visible prior to installation.
