The F-150 Raptor came from the factory with a massive 6.2 liter engine, but sadly the engine bay isn't that exciting so today we're going to be dressing it up with these American Core Craft Carbon Fiber Vinyl and Stainless Steel Fluid Caps.
These fluid caps are made right here in the U.S.A with polished stainless steel with carbon fiber vinyl inlays for a sporty and custom look. They easily install over the factory flow caps with Velcro, so today we're going to install them on our 2012 F-150 Raptor.
There's a total of six caps in the kit, five are all the same, and then there's one smaller one. These are going to go on the foil cap, radiator cap, coolant reservoir, brake master cylinder, power steering and the washer fluid. The first thing I'm going to do is clean these caps really well, I'm going to scrub them really good, so they're super clean, so the caps can stick properly.
Scrub them with alcohol real good, get all the oils off. We have all the caps nice and clean, now we're going to use the adhesion promoter on all of them to make sure the caps stick really good. We're going to start off by putting the shallow or half inch cap on the radiator cap. Simply peel off the backing of the Velcro, get it lined up nice, and stick it on. It's really just that simple, now just repeat the same process for the other five caps.
Next we're going to do the power steering. Our new cap won't fit on the coolant reservoir cap with the tether, so we need to cut the tether off. Put the cap back on, then install your cap, then the brake master cylinder. The tether for the washer cap also needs to be removed. Once you get the tether off, you can install the cap.
Lastly is the oil cap. All right, we got our American Car Craft Foil caps installed. They definitely get our engine base some character and brought it to life. Installation's really not that hard, it should take about a half hour to do it all, and before you know it you'll be heading off-road.
