This is a Corsa Performance Sport Catback Exhaust System fitting your 2018 Mustang GT without active exhaust or any 2015-2017 GT with the Roush rear mounts. Now, because this is a three inch system, this is going to be Fastback only and the Touring will be very similar sounding to the Extreme, with a little less volume. Like the Extreme, the Sport exhaust is made of 304 stainless steel, front to back, featuring three inch mandrel bent piping. It has their industry first, double X pipe, which gives you a great, nice sound on acceleration, but also very mild sound during cruising. It also has the RSC system, which is a patent reflective sound cancellation, which does a great job of getting rid of any drone in the exhaust. This system is made in the USA as a direct replacement for your factory Catback and includes your choice of either a chrome or a black chrome tip.
For this installation, a lift or a jack and jack stands, 3/8th ratchet, 13 millimeter socket, 15 millimeter socket, six inch extension, and a swivel.
We have our car up on a lift and we've already changed exhaust out on this car a couple of times. We're going to show you some stock footage of how to remove the factory exhaust before we begin our Corsa installation. Removal of the 2018 exhaust is once again, a two man job, but very easy to do. We're going to loosen the clamps up here, remove these two bolts for these rear brackets, pull these hangers off, and you can slide the whole thing off as one piece.
For the beginning installation, with the system being the three inch system, it includes these adapters. Now, these are going to go down from the factory size up to the three inch X pipe. All right, with the adapters on, now we can put the double X pipe into place. Now you want to make sure the support bracket on the back of the X pipe is facing down.
We'll just get these snug for now.
The X pipe mounted, now we can work on the muffler assembly. We're going to start by putting a clamp up on the X pipe, and then put the muffler up into place, again, attaching the factory bracket that we removed from the factory system. We'll start by putting into the rear hanger first. We'll just snug the clamp down. Then we repeat the process with the other tail pipe muffler assembly. Here, the muffler's mounted. We can install the tips. Clamp on. Line up where you want it, and tighten it down.
We'll now go back to and adjust the rest of the system and tighten everything down.
Your installation's finished.
We recently installed the Extreme and it fit great, so we knew the Sport would be the same way. Now, let's hear how it sounds. Nice and loud at idle. Sound-wise, very similar to the Extreme. A little bit less volume, but not a huge difference.
Now, as soon as they put the video up for the Corsa Extreme, half the comments we got, "What about the Corsa Sport?" The Corsa Sport was a popular system for the 2015-2017. We expect it to kind of be the same way for the 2018. For a lot of people, they like the Extreme. It has a unique tone, a little bit higher pitch tone, almost exotic sounding, but for some people it is a little bit too loud. That's exactly where the Sport comes in. Basic tone-wise, it's very, very similar to the way the Extreme sounds, just less overall volume. Now, just like the other system, though, 2,000 RPM on the highway. No drone. Nothing. Nothing to worry about. Perfectly livable system. Even if you downshift a little bit and you get on it, it's not real loud at the lower RPM's, but as the RPM's climb, it does get noticeably louder.
Now, the one thing that I found that's very unique about both Corsa's but definitely the Sport is the tone actually changes. The sound, once you hit about 4,500, the sound gets a lot more intense, a lot more amplified. Even changes tone a little bit. It's kind of a cool feature, this exhaust. Like I said, the Extreme kind of has the same thing, but the Extreme is just louder all the time, so you don't notice it as much.
One thing that also made the Corsa Sport really popular, if you go with long tube headers and you're going with a kind of off road kind of set up, the Extreme gets loud with that set up. I know a few friends out there who have it, customers who love it. To me, it's almost unbearably loud when you go with no Cats, whereas the Sport will kind of give you the same tone you had before, but it's not over-the-top loud with off road pipes. The Sport's a real solid choice if you'd like an exhaust system that you can kind of sneak by if you want to, but also be heard if you want to.
Now, if you love the sound of the Corsa Extreme, but it's a little too loud for you, the Sport is gonna be a perfect choice. Very similar tone, very similar sound, just a little bit less output. Also, if you're thinking down the road, long tubes and maybe getting rid of the catalytic converters, this would be an excellent choice as well if you want that extreme sound. Installation's very straight forward. Hour and a half total. Be back on the road in no time.
