Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Value - But Not Authentic These key blanks look good and are higher quality than one might expect for the price. However, they are not identical to the original Ford. The original keys have a raised, sculpted horse icon, on the CJP blacks, the horse is flat. In the image, the CJP key is the upper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Authentic My son wanted his grandpa’s 1965 Mustang keys, which I thought he might have since he totalled that beautiful red pony in 1967. Thank God the car saved my dad’s life! But he didn’t keep the keys. But now my son has a set of replica keys and it means a lot to him! Grandpa’s good luck charm!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Key I bought this a year ago. No, they do not work for the door and trunk like the originals and they have different shape. If you want to buy something close to original its ok. look at the other review you see on the pictures that they are not the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like original! After purchasing a 1966 Mustang convertible, I ordered these key blanks to match all of the other original things I was putting into the car. Great match, and after being duplicated from the original, look and work great!

I've twice had these key blanks drilled for my 1964 1/2 Mustang, and they wouldn't work in the ignition (they did work in the trunk). Did Ford use a different key blank for the 1964 1/2? Cheers.

They should be the same.

How can you make replacement keys if you don't have the originals?

Asked by: dkhowe6
Try Ace Hardware...they were the only place I could find that had one of the old manual (non-computerized) key machines. They will make copies from copies. But they actually WOULD NOT allow me to use these blanks due to their policy. Tuens out they had blanks that more closely matched the shape of the original key (1966) key I had. I have an original ignition key and a copy trunk key. They agreed to make copies with their blanks. They look good. Like you, I wanted to use these blanks but having backup keys was more important to me. Maybe you can talk them into it! My last alternative was to go to a locksmith -- they can do anything. Good luck!

The original door/ignition has a triangular hole in it with a V under it; usa on one side and h on the other for my 66 Stang. Do you have a key blank like this? My trunk key is like what you display; mustang one side, product of Ford on other side.

You are probably looking for keys like in this picture, http://www.cjponyparts.com/trunk-lock-cylinder-with-keys-1965-1966/p/HW1463/, we do not offer a blank key set for that type.
