These MGP caliper covers are going to give our Focus ST that big caliper look without the big caliper cost. It comes with a set of four with the engraved rivets as well as the engraved ST logo, available in your choice of red, black or satin finish.
We’ll start the installation by removing the wheels. The caliper covers come with all necessary mounting hardware. They’re pretty easy to install, too. Basically what you do is you just sit it over your factory caliper and you get it centered, and they provide these clips. Clip those under the caliper, between the caliper and the rotor. Just slide that into place onto the stud. We’ll do the same thing on the bottom and tighten them down. Make sure they’re both tight up onto the studs. Make sure you don’t over tighten these. Just get them as snug as you can and pull the stud out.
Now we want to repeat the process on the passenger’s side and then move onto the rear. The rear hardware fits a little bit different. You want to start by removing the nut and washer from the supplied bracket, and the bracket’s going to clip onto the caliper right here. It’s the same thing with the bottom. Slide the new caliper cover on and reinstall the hardware. And again, repeat the process on the other side.
Included with all the MGP caliper covers is a piece of paper. It looks like it’s scrap paper but what it’s actually designed to is to work as a feeler gauge just to make sure that the brackets installed on the calipers aren’t going to touch the rotors. You’ll want to check all four before you put the wheels back on. Make sure it slides in through without touching. They’re good, we’ll check the fronts. We’ll do the same check with the front. Do it there, also good there.
We’ll reinstall the wheels and your installation is finished. Our MGP caliper covers give our Focus that big break look without the big brake price tag. Besides getting the car off the ground and getting the wheels off, the only tool needed for installation is going to be a 3/8 ratchet. Install should only take you around an hour and you should be back on the road in no time.
