We have no doubt that the leading large factory resonator found in the 2015-2022 Mustang is going to be a very popular modification among owners. The resonator is very heavy, and also very restrictive. Releasing it is going to save some weight on the car, give you more sound and more horsepower.

There's a lot of ways to lead it so far using an X-pipe, but we've been listening to our customers who have been asking for a way to do it with an H-pipe. We teamed up with MRT and offer this exclusive H-pipe resonator to lead.

We teamed up with MRT to offer this resonator lead H-pipe available exclusively here at CJ Pony Parts. It's a rack replacement for the factory resonator. You simply cut off the tailpipes, and use the factory clamps on the front. Now it's going to increase flow to your exhaust. Give you much better exhaust tones. It's going to save you 15 pounds over the factory resonator.

To start off, we're going to give you some stock sound clips.

For this installation lay a lift or a jack and jack stands, 3/8 ratchet, 13mm socket, 15mm socket, extension, flat blade screwdriver, measuring tape, marker, sawzall, file and safety glasses.

As we have shown you many of times in the past removal of the stock system is actually quite easy, but we do suggest a second set of hands to make it easier. The first thing you want to do, remove the two bolts for the two rear brackets. Don't worry about removing the brackets, there's actually a little hook so they're not going to fall off.

Now we'll move four to loosen the clamps to hold the resonator to the front pipes.

You may want to bend this tab up. There's a little stud that will stop it. You can slide the clamp down. Now you can pop these little hangers off here. Now the weights going to go forward, and you shimmy the system forward off the rear clamps.

Once you have the factory exhaust off you want to get it somewhere where you can cut it. What we're going to do is measure back six and a quarter from the center of the resonator. We're going to mark it, and then cut the pipes off.

You look at the H-pipe, you notice the one side has a slight curve to it. When put up into place the curve side is going to be on the passenger side.

Now we'll snug up these clamps and you're going to tighten them all the way down. We still may need to adjust them. We're just going to get them snug for now.

Before we install the stock tailpipe and muffler, you want to make sure you file this down. Get it as smooth as possible so it fits in the clamp.

Now we're ready to reinstall. We'll start by putting it back in the factory muffler clamp.

Slide the clamp into place, and tighten it down.

Now repeat the process on the driver's side.

Now let's hear how it sounds with the stock mufflers and our MRT CJ resonator lead.

She sounds pretty healthy even with the stock mufflers by getting rid of the resonator. It's a lot more exhaust volume, and it has a nice raspy tone to it as well without being too loud.

Driving the car and acceleration wise, it's only slightly louder than stock to be honest with you. You can really barely hear it. A little bit at the higher RPMs, then you can hear a little bit more of the aggressive tone of the muffler. Cruising wise, zero drone, zero noise at highway speeds.

It feels like a factory car until you down shift and get on it a little bit, then you can really hear the sound a little bit more.

This is the perfect choice if you're trying to keep the car subtle, want a little more sound but don't want to get into a full exhaust. Getting rid of the resonator. Like I said, you're going to save weight, it's going to increase the flow for sure and it gives you a nice sound without being overly loud.

In my opinion, had Ford not built the 2015-2022 Mustang to be used in different markets across the world, this is probably how they would have made it sound. It's a very nice tone. It's actually very reminiscent of the stock systems found in the ‘11-‘14s.

The MRT resonator delete H-Pipe is going to get rid of your heavy restrictive factory resonator. It's definitely going to save some weight. It's going to free up some horsepower as well. It's going to work with either a stock or an aftermarket axle. Back to even that real muscle car sound. This part is available exclusively here at CJPonyParts.com.
