Greg's 1966 Mustang Story

After Greg’s mother passed away, he had to sell his 1968 Mustang Coupe since he had nowhere to keep it while restoring it. After selling the ‘68, he regretted it and started looking around for a new project car.

He eventually found a 1966 Mustang Coupe. It was just the inner structure and a few body panels that needed replacing. So he bought it for 200 bucks and started to collect parts.

Once he found most of the parts, he sent what was left of the original to get sandblasted and started putting all the body panels in place. While this was going on, his dad passed away. He made it a point to finish the project since his dad was the one who sparked his interest in older muscle cars. His dad had owned a 1970 Dodge Challenger that Greg’s mom bought him on their first wedding anniversary. Now Greg is the one who owns that very special vehicle.

With the majority of the body panels in place, Greg started to build a tube chassis for the Mustang. He decided to look for suspension components and drivetrain when he came across a C6 Corvette Driveline on Facebook Marketplace. He built the chassis around the C6 Corvette driveline and suspension.

The ‘66 Mustang is still getting worked on, and Greg plans to finish this vehicle in memory of his dad. He also wants to prove to people that he can fix something other people would just get rid of.
