How to Install a New Set of Wheels and Tires on an S650 Mustang

In this step-by-step article, we show you how to swap your factory wheels and tires out for an aftermarket set on the 2024 Mustang GT. This process is extremely simple and only requires a few steps to get done. With basic hand tools and an hour of time, you can have your 2024 S650 Mustang sitting right with fresh wheels and tires that give it your own personalized look and improved grip.

Tools Needed

  • Hydraulic Floor Jack
  • Jack Stands
  • Socket Wrench
  • Socket Set
  • Torque Wrench

Step 1: Jack Up Your Mustang

Using the floor jack and jack stands, jack up your Mustang and securely lower it onto your jack stands.

Step 2: Remove Your Lug Nuts

Remove the lug nuts holding your wheel onto the hub.

Step 3: Remove Your Wheel

Slide the stock wheel off the wheel studs carefully.

Step 4: Repeat This Process

Repeat steps two and three until all of your stock wheels have been removed.

Step 5: Set Your New Wheels Into Place

Slide your new wheels into place on the wheel hub carefully.

Step 6: Tighten Your Wheels Down

Hand-tighten your lug nuts down into place on the wheel studs. Then, use your torque wrench to tighten them to the factory specs found in your owner's manual.

Step 7: Repeat This Process

Repeat steps five and six until all four wheels are installed and torqued to spec.

Step 8: Lower Your S650

Lower your Mustang from the jack stands by carefully removing them while one side of the car is jacked up. Once you've removed the jack stands, carefully lower your car from the floor jack until all four wheels are on the ground.
