SN95 and New Edge Mustang Aftermarket Wheel Guide
Last Updated June 26, 2024 | C.J. TragakisSN95 and New Edge Mustangs offer a performance-focused, sporty car at an affordable price. And with aftermarket upgrades, it's rare to see two that look or perform the same. One of the easiest ways to make a big impact on your SN95's style is by swapping out the stock rims for a new set of aftermarket wheels.
Stock SN95 Mustang Wheel Sizes: How Big Can You Go?
The SN95 Mustangs came with 16-inch or 17-inch wheels from the factory. It's rare to see 19- or 20-inch rims on an SN95 since they require significant modifications to fit. Most owners top out at 18-inch wheels.
Instead of going big on the diameter, it might make more sense to opt for wider wheels and tires. They'll give your Mustang more contact with the ground for better traction and grip. Wider wheels and tires are also great if you're building a widebody SN95.
17-Inch SN95 Wheels
A 17-inch rim helps maintain your SN95 or New Edge's classic look, and there are lots of styles in this size range.
18-Inch SN95 Wheels
18-inch wheels are a noticeable step up from the stock sizes. This means more street presence and the potential for better handling. Though this size wasn't offered stock, it doesn't look out of place and will still fit well.
Black SN95 Wheels
Black wheels are a staple on newer Mustangs, so they can add a modern look to an SN95 or New Edge. Use them to add a stealthy touch or as part of a total . Black wheels pair well with just about any color and look at home on a variety of builds. You can even get some of the classic styles, like Bullitt- or Cobra-style wheels, in an all-black finish to complement your blacked out Mustang.
Chrome SN95 Wheels
Sure, black adds a modern edge. But chrome? It's a classic style for a reason. As long as you don't mind giving them a good detailing regularly to avoid chrome pitting, they can look incredible.
Wheel and Tire Combos for SN95/New Edge Mustangs
Buying your wheels and tires together gets you better performance and a new look for your SN95. Plus, you don't have to worry about getting the right tire size later down the road. Wheel and tire packages from CJ Pony Parts even come mounted and balanced so they're ready to install.
What Else Will You Need for Your New SN95 Wheels?
Getting a few add-ons can help you make the most of your new wheels. Here are some more parts that'll help you get the fit, performance, and style you want.
Engine Tuner - If you're changing tire sizes, you'll likely need to pick up an ECU tuner so you can reprogram the speedometer to give accurate readings. Check out our tire size calculator to find out how your new set will affect your true speed.
Wheel Spacers - A set of wheel spacers will give you more clearance for larger wheels or brakes, and they can adjust the offset for an altered stance. Mustang wheel spacers are an affordable and easy-to-install upgrade that come in a variety of sizes.
Lug Nuts and Valve Stem Caps - Depending on the wheels you get, you may need new lug nuts. But you may just want a new set even if you don't need them. Lug nuts come in a wide variety of styles to help you stand out. Combined with some custom valve stem caps, these wheel accessories will give your Mustang a personal touch.
