The time has come. Time to update the suspension on your classic 1967-1970 Small Block Mustang. But don’t just update it, upgrade it! This Ridetech StreetGrip Suspension System (12105010) from CJ Pony Parts is the perfect upgrade that blends both ride quality and handling performance and puts it into one package. Best of all, all the parts in this kit are direct replacements which make for an easy bolt-on installation.
Composite Leaf Springs can save your Mustang up to 50lbs in unsprung weight! These savings can greatly improve the handling and ride quality of your classic pony car. They even come equipped with billet leaf spring eyelets that you can flip to achieve your desired stance! The composite leaf spring design also provides more torsional strength which practically eliminates any dreaded spring wrap that can impact your Mustang's performance.
Features and Benefits:
- Improves Ride Quality and Handling Performance
- Composite Leaf Springs Provide Linear Spring Rate
- Taller Ball-Joints Improve OEM Camber Curve for More Stability Through Corners
- Larger Diameter Front Sway Bar Minimizes Body Roll
- Ridetech HQ Series Vehicle-Specific Rebound Adjustable Monotube Shocks
- All Parts are Direct Replacements for Factory Parts
The shocks from Ridetech feature a monotube design with adjustability that allows you to tune in the suspension for a softer, floatier ride, or for a more firm and sporty handling suspension. With the monotube design, the shock uses a single-cylinder where the fluid and pressurized gas are kept separate. This reduces the chance of cavitation, which can greatly impact handling performance. The monotube design is a higher pressure dampening system with a large piston that moves through the fluid and provides more consistent valving than a twin-tube design.
Ridetech worked closely with Hyperco to create a pair of dual-rate front coil springs that provide the best ride possible. A dual-rate coil spring means you get a soft, smooth ride while out cruising and a firm ride when taking a sharp turn. The softer spring rate lets your Mustang handle small road irregularities to provide maximum ride comfort. But when the spring compresses far enough from large bumps or cornering, the spring rate becomes firm to help control the bump or body roll.
The increased bar diameter of the Ridetech Front Sway Bar helps to control your Mustang's body roll as you go through a turn. This increases the handling performance and makes your car feel more planted to the road whether you are on some twisty back roads or at the track. Delrin bushings help to eliminate Stiction, allowing the sway bar to move more freely.

Delrin is Ridetech’s material of choice for the set of composite leaf spring bushings. The Delrin bushings eliminate deflection and provide years of Stiction-free reliability. This greatly improves the ride quality and handling performance of your Mustang. Delrin is also outstandingly more durable than OEM rubber bushings and even polyurethane bushings. Shackles for the rear of the leaf spring are included with this set of bushings.
Polyurethane bushings can be squeaky and they tend to resist smooth rotation, which causes unwanted Stiction. Delrin eliminates Stiction and binding of the control arms movement. With direct-fit Delrin bushings, you get predictable and controlled movement. This allows the shocks and springs to do their intended job of providing suspension compliance, ride quality and performance handling.
Please Note: Convertible cars will require modification to utilize the staggered shock system.
