Scott Drake: About 30 years ago, our first 289 emblem was constructed from zinc dye cast and chrome plated construction. It looks authentic, but it's made out of really the wrong material, not concourse correct, but we found that we could get a great chrome job. And that's kind of been the standard. But for those of you who have concourse cars and want to correctly illustrate these kind of details, we now offer a stamped aluminum 289 emblem, which is not chrome plated; it's clear anodized. The period correct piece is a stamped aluminum piece, illustrated by the two samples that you have in front of you. The one on the right is the new reproduction stamped aluminum part, clear anodized coating. The one on the left is an old original. We'll kind of pick it up and you can see the pins are wedged in place, the but back side is a real steel stamping, much lighter than the dye cast reproductions that we've made years ago. We've also painted the background with the correct color black. This is the perfect complement for our concourse correct 289 emblem for your '65-'66.
