For over 30 years Scott Drake has produced high-quality Ford-licensed restoration parts for your Mustang.
Starting off with the Trunk Weatherstrip he made while still in high school for a shop teacher, today Scott Drake offers over 9,000 products making them the largest manufacturer of Mustang restoration parts around.
Currently based in Henderson, Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas, Scott Drake is expanding his restoration line to include late model Mustang parts under the Drake Muscle Cars name.
Today let's take a closer look at some of their products and the attention to detail Scott Drake puts into them.
This is replacement lower control arm for your '64 through '66 Mustang. The lower control arm is an integral part of your front suspension, so you want to make sure you have a quality product. You can immediately see that Scott Drake has a much nicer finish, and also has the correct black and gray two-tone finish as well. The biggest difference is going to be in the ball joints, starting with the Castle nut. Scott Drake uses a much heavier duty hardware than our standard reproduction. You can see it's almost twice the thickness. It's going to be a lot stronger when threaded on. Removing these, the cover for the boots is a nice heavy plastic cover for the Scott Drake, very thin plastic flimsy cover on the standard reproduction piece.
Now we pull these off so you can see the boots themselves. Again, much higher quality thick rubber boot on the Scott Drake, much thinner quality on the standard piece. Once you flip them over, you can see that Scott Drake has the correct style rivets. It's also greaseable, where your standard reproduction is not. Again, it's going to make the product last a lot longer. You can see the difference with the two-piece heavy duty bracket as well as the tabs on here. They're edge welded on this piece here. These are installed with the correct spot welds.
If you're looking for the best fitting, highest quality parts for either your restoration or your late model Mustang make sure you check our selection of Scott Drake products.
