Product Description

Custom Autosound Dual Voice Coil 4"x10" Dash Speaker for 1965-1966 Mustangs.

Get the best quality sound possible from the original speaker location with this direct replacement dual voice coil speaker. It has up to 70% more cone area than the conventional dual speaker setup. This will give you improved bass response and power handling. Both stereo channels hook directly to one speaker.

This dash speaker requires a modern stereo that has left and right speaker outputs. Original radios have a single speaker output and cannot drive both voice coils in this speaker.

Handles 140 max watts.

Custom Autosound Dash Speaker Dual Voice Coil 4X10 1965-1966 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from kicks butt I added an aftermarket Sony, since the previous owner already hacked the dash, to my 66. I added a box in the back with 2 6.5 subs and 2" tweeters and they sounded "so so". I added this dash speaker and WOW. It sounds 10 times better than the box in the back. I keep the fader balanced to get a little of the bass from the back, but I don't really need it. This is a major upgrade and great deal and bolts right up. The picture doesn't show it, but there are two hookups for the dual voice coils. Works awesome and couldn't be happier with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not A Good Fit I bought this speaker assuming it would be a direct replacement but found out that it was anything but that. I had to make several modifications to the speaker and reluctantly to the speaker grill on the dash. If you are looking for a direct bolt in, this is not it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Upgrade I wanted to upgrade the sound in my convertible and this is a fantastic replacement for getting better sound from dash speaker. Easy to install and provides more sound as I cruise with the top down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from unlistenable Can only play in mono. In the center balance stereo mode, the vocals disappear . CAS said it is a faulty solder and is sending a replacement. Will update after I receive and install the new one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, what a difference! Recently replaced two small Harrison Custom Audio units with this 4x10 in my '65 Fastback and man, what a difference! Night and day, so much more bass and without all the distortion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great for me I bought this for my 1966 Dodge Polara. Worked great with a minor modification. Now I have stereo sound in front as well as in back. Good deal.

On the Custom Autosound 3001DVC in-dash replacement speaker.... one review says it's a troublesome, non-direct installation. The other 2 reviews indicate it isn't troublesome. What is the CJ part line on this?? I don't want to have to modify anything

Asked by: jack h
You should be fine - it's very possible the troublesome reviewer had a non-OEM Mustang, which might've required the modifications. If you're stock or OEM replacement, you should be fine.

It states that you need a modern radio for the speaker to work. Would the "Custom Autosound USA-2 Radio" that you sell work with this?

Asked by: Jrmjeff
As long as it has left and right speaker outputs, it will work.

Will it fit right into place on the dash of a 1965 mustang all original?
