Custom Autosound Dash Speaker Dual Voice Coil 4X10 1965-1966 is rated out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Millerious from kicks butt I added an aftermarket Sony, since the previous owner already hacked the dash, to my 66. I added a box in the back with 2 6.5 subs and 2" tweeters and they sounded "so so". I added this dash speaker and WOW. It sounds 10 times better than the box in the back. I keep the fader balanced to get a little of the bass from the back, but I don't really need it. This is a major upgrade and great deal and bolts right up. The picture doesn't show it, but there are two hookups for the dual voice coils. Works awesome and couldn't be happier with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Scooter from Not A Good Fit I bought this speaker assuming it would be a direct replacement but found out that it was anything but that. I had to make several modifications to the speaker and reluctantly to the speaker grill on the dash. If you are looking for a direct bolt in, this is not it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cropdusta from Nice Upgrade I wanted to upgrade the sound in my convertible and this is a fantastic replacement for getting better sound from dash speaker. Easy to install and provides more sound as I cruise with the top down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by woofin from unlistenable Can only play in mono. In the center balance stereo mode, the vocals disappear . CAS said it is a faulty solder and is sending a replacement. Will update after I receive and install the new one

why is there no photo of the front (other side) of the speaker? Can you add one?
I brought this to the attention of our photography staff, the images will be updated shortly.

On the Custom Autosound 3001DVC in-dash replacement speaker.... one review says it's a troublesome, non-direct installation. The other 2 reviews indicate it isn't troublesome. What is the CJ part line on this?? I don't want to have to modify anything
You should be fine - it's very possible the troublesome reviewer had a non-OEM Mustang, which might've required the modifications. If you're stock or OEM replacement, you should be fine.

It states that you need a modern radio for the speaker to work. Would the "Custom Autosound USA-2 Radio" that you sell work with this?
As long as it has left and right speaker outputs, it will work.

Will it fit right into place on the dash of a 1965 mustang all original?
