Front Frame Rail Complete Passenger Side 1965-1970
Mustang Front Frame Rail Complete Passenger Side 1965-1970
This one piece front frame rail includes both the inner and outer full front frame rail pieces welded together into one complete front frame rail. Also includes the sway bar mount installed to the side of the frame rail.
Starting in the front there's a proper hole for the J-nut for your front valance hardware. Both holes for your front bumper bracket are predrilled, and the nuts are welded for mounting on the inside. The holes for your brake and fuel line clips are already installed, as well as the holes for your steering box. On the top of the frame rail, both holes are already drilled for your clutch linkage and have welded nuts for mounting.
Moving further down, your strut bar and sway bar mount is already welded to the frame rail. That's welded in the proper location for a '67 through '70 Mustang. If you're installing this frame rail on a '65 through '66, you'll have to move this an inch and a half forward. Moving to the bottom of the frame rail you’ll see drilled and threaded holes for both your cross member and your slave cylinder.
Due to the unibody design of our Mustang, the front frame rail is a very important part of the structure. You want to make sure you use a high quality replacement, such as our one piece rail, and we suggest having it professionally installed.

sway bar brackets
The swaybar/core support brackets are welded 1.5 inches to far back for 64 1/2. If used as recieved your original core support brackets don't rest on front radiator support far enough. Brackets have to be removed and moved forward but before you do that there is an extra 1 1/4 diameter hole that need to be filled or part of the brakcket falls right in the center of the hole.

Like the first reviewer, the sway bar bracket is located too far back for a 1966 also (about 1-1/4"). The bracket itself is different than my original, with the sway bar holes about 7/8" closer to frame rail... not sure if that will be a problem until I go to mount the sway bar. The frame rail itself appears to fit well. everything else looks as though it should work. Plan on taking off the bracket and using your stock bracket if you can salvage it or rewelding this bracket on in the correct location. Maybe it fits a 1967 or later model better?

I changed the drivers side frame rail and it fit pretty good but the sway bar bracket is different than the original and was not in the correct spot. I had to drill the spot welds and weld on the original bracket
