*When installing a Monte Carlo bar on 1965-1966 Convertibles, you must remove the factory tubular engine compartment bracing.
This ended up looking really nice. Love the satin black look. I added this and replace alot of worn out suspension parts and dramatically reduced the body roll. 4 stars due to the time it took to get it in, and one of the holes not lining up correctly. See install tips below for more details. Install tips: As to be expected with these cars, the shock towers had sagged in some on my 66 coupe. I tried to spread them appart but this is a bad idea because I only succeeded in denting and cracking the paint on the fender aprons. A safer way, and the way I ultimately did it, was to lift the front of the car and let the suspension hang loose. Then attach the bolts loosely on one side to hold it in place. I wrapped a cargo tie down strap across the bar and around the motor mount on the free side. Then with a block of wood and a hammer, 'convince' the other side to fit correctly.
