Product Description

Tremec TKO 500 transmission for many performance applications where a high torque capacity is desired.

This transmission features a 500 lbs.-ft. torque capacity and a 10 spline input shaft.

*26 Spline Input Shaft version is also available

? Tapered roller bearings on input, output and counter shafts to improve performance (reduced noise factor).
? All gears and shafts made from special grade steel (ASTM 4615) that provides increased torque carrying capacity
? Equipped with a high-performance short-throw billet aluminum shifter that isolates road noise, while providing clean crisp shifts
? Neutral safety switch and back-up light sensor
? Dual electronic and mechanical speedometer pick-ups to suit all years

You would need a tremec specific bell housing and correct spline clutch and possibly modify the transmission crossmember.

Can I get a TKO 500 or 600 with the standard 10-spline Input and 26-spline output shafts for my AC Cobra kit car?  It has a 92 302 block stroked to 331 with a T5 W/C and Quick Time SFI Approved Scatter Bellhousing. My current setup is 10 and 26.

They are only available with a 26 spline output shaft.

I have a 1990 mustang gt without the 5.0. The manual transmission thats in it from the factory kind of blew up because of the 347 i put together. What's all required to get one off these transmissions installed?

I have a 2000 gt looking to put a twin turbo kit on. Would this transmission work can you build it to handle more power or is there another option?

1996-2004 4.6 Liter Mustangs will require a Tremec specific bell-housing. Other modifications may be required. We do not offer any services to build this transmission to handle more power. This transmission has a Torque rating of 500ft/lbs.

It is pretty involved to swap over to this trans, the trans tunnel has to be modified for it to fit.
