Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must in a classic Mustang My second Mustang where I have that transmission installed. 1st gear short for even better acceleration. Firm, modern shifts. Overdrive for easy cruising at highway speeds. Shaft has to be shortened but so little you can use it with original trans if you want to. Easy to go back to stock

Is this the right T5 for a C60A-6394-C bell housing on a 1966 mustang?  Some web sites are indicating a longer drive shaft is require while other are stating shorter. I want to still use my console so it can’t come up in a different location

Asked by: TylerMustang66
You can use a t-5 bellhousing with this transmission. The shifter will come out through the stock location. https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-racing-bellhousing-t-5-5-0l-1979-1993/p/M6392E/

I have a 64 fairlane 500 with a top loader. If I convert to the T5 will I have to modify the boot and consul or will the shifter be in the same location?

Asked by: Jeffs64fairlane
Sorry we are not familiar with the Fairlane but it should fit in the stock shifter hole since it does on a mustang.

From answers, know 7 days max at less than $300 to ship to UK. Will be fitted to a TR8 which uses rover v8 (1961 Buick 215) engine do you have or know source for a bell housing? Needs to be fitted for 15th April. Car entered in 1st UK closed road rally.

Call Mark at D&D Fabrications in Michigan. 1 810 798 2491. He has the bell-housing and adapter plate that goes between trans and bell-housing. I have that set-up in my 1968 MGB/GT with 4.6 Rover. Check your pilot bearing size before attempting installation. Tell Mark Jay sent 'ya.
