1969 Ford Mustang H-Pipes

If you're overhauling your 1969 Mustang's exhaust, then you'll need to select a mid-pipe that meets your needs. While X-pipes may be freer flowing, h-pipes are almost as good and create an incredible sound. Unlike the high-pitched sound other mid-pipes make, an H-pipe is associated with that deep muscle car rumble that characterized cars of the '60s.

An Option for Every Application

If your car used straight exhaust pipes in the middle section of its exhaust system before, you’d notice a deeper sound and a throatier idle. H-pipes also generate excellent mid-range horsepower and torque, so they match well with the tourqey Ford small block, an engine that is naturally inclined to make mid-range power.

You'll need to make sure your h-pipe matches the other components of your exhaust system, including your headers. Classic Mustangs sometimes use a tri-Y style header, a type made popular by Shelby's GT350. If you've got your eye on a tri-y, then we've got h-pipes designed specifically to work with them.

You can also get long-tube-specific H-pipes for cars using long-tube headers such as track and drag cars.

As with all exhaust projects, we highly recommend you make sure you have small parts available before replacing your 1969 Mustang’s H-pipes. We carry a full selection of washers and studs, flanges and clamps from BBK and ARP that will make reliable replacements for the worn-out factory fasteners you don’t want to reuse.
