1980 Mustang Suspension

Keep Your 1980 Mustang Planted on the Road with a Fresh Suspension Build
1980 Suspension
The suspension system in your 1980 Mustang connects the chassis to the tires. More importantly, it ensures that no matter how bumpy the road gets, your tires are always on the ground.
Improving your Fox Body's suspension can be as involved or simple as you'd like for it to be. While replacing your shock absorbers and springs with coilovers is a major installation, adding something simple like a sway bar is easy. Sway bars and subframe connectors both improve your chassis rigidity, reducing flex, which was a known issue for the lightweight Fox Body.
Lowering your 1980 Mustang is another great way to improve the handling, and it'll also have a major impact on appearance. There's no denying that a lowered Mustang looks amazing, but it also benefits from a lower center of gravity. The next time you're coming around a tight corner you'll appreciate the reduction in body roll.
When you decided to lower your Mustang, make sure you also adjust the caster and camber angles of your wheels. This will help with maintaining even tire wear, and will make sure you see the full benefit of your suspension mods.
