This CPC splitter is designed to fit the front of your 2015 through 2017 Mustang without the performance pack option. Today we're going to install it on this 2015 Mustang V6.
While many of the front splitters in the market are designed for the performance pack Mustang, this one from CPC is going to fit everything but the performance pack, and it's great for your V6 EcoBoost, or base model GT. Best of all, it's going to install easily, using mostly factory hardware and factory holes, only requires 2 small holes to be drilled for installation.
For this installation, get a lift or jack and jack stands. 1/4 inch ratchet. 1/4 inch socket. 7 millimeter socket. 10 millimeter socket. 10mm wrench. Small flathead screwdriver. Drill. 9/32 drill bit and safety glasses.
You start the installation by getting your car up off the ground, then we're going to remove some factory hardware. 3 screws here, the same thing on the other side and these 2 in the middle. The screws on the outside edge will get reused, these 2 in the center are going to get replaced.
Next step is to put the splitter up into place, held in place by the 3 bolts removed on each side. It's not a bad idea to get some help for this because it is larger, make it a lot easier to get it up into place. We're just going to put these on hand-tight for now.
These are the screws provided by CPC for the center. The spacer is going to go up into the opening above the splitter, the screw and washer go in from the bottom. Now we can tighten these up. Then you go back and tighten up all the factory screws.
Once it's bolted on with the original hardware, plus the 2 screws in the center, the last step is to drill holes on the side here for the additional hardware. Simply push it up, and just drill right through it. To install the nut and bolt through the hole we just drilled, we have to remove these 2 clips, so we can pull the splash shield back to get the nut in place. Splash shield back and we can put the screw in from the bottom. Get the nut in, then we'll tighten it up. Reinstall the push-pins, repeat the process on the other side, and your installation is finished.
The CPC splitter could almost pass for a factory part of the front of our V6. It adds a nice, clean look, without being over the top. As you see, if you don't like the sticker in the middle, it's also every easy to remove. As far as the installation, very simple to do, probably take you about half an hour, you can be back on the road in no time.
