CJ Classics Two-Piece Passenger Side Torque Box in Weld-Thru Primer for 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Coupe and Fastback Mustangs.
After years of throttle transfers, your torque box can become weak, flexible and prone to rusting. This makes the body of your Mustang flex more which in turn causes the frame to twist. Now you can replace your original torque box with this Two-Piece Passenger Side Torque Box 3654WT in Weld-Thru Primer from CJ Classics and restore the rigidity of your 1967-1970 Coupe or Fastback Mustang.
Features and Benefits:
- Weld-Thru Primer Reduces Prep Time and Spatter
- Lower Distortion of the Panels
- Superior Conductive Properties Minimize High Heat Zone Issues
- Beneficial When Welding a New Panel to Old Metal
- Eliminates Corrosion Between Overlapped Panels or Multi-Layered Spot Welds
This three-sided sheet metal piece sits on the passenger side of the engine compartment over the rear of the front wheel. It offers a superior fitment for 1967-1970 Mustangs compared to other reproduction torque boxes. Two-piece means this torque box is not spot-welded together, making installation easier.
To prevent rust, this torque box features a protective weld-thru primer. There are many advantages of the weld-thru primer, such as preventing resin build up between welds that can trap moisture in the old porous steel, resulting in failure at the weld borders. Lower resistance at the weld surface also allows better penetration into the denser, new steel that helps forgive an old alloy's problems with porosity and impurities.
