This distributor is equipped with a cast iron distributor gear. Cast iron gears are meant to be used with flat tappet camshafts in some 1985 Mustangs and older Mustangs. Newer Fox Bodies used steel distributor gears with their hydraulic roller camshafts. This distributor should be used when you have a flat tappet camshaft. If you have an aftermarket camshaft, consult the company that made the camshaft to ensure the correct gear is used. This distributor features an OE quality, fit and function, plus all new critical rubber wear components are replaced. Computer testing is performed for quality and reliability while testing ensures you receive a properly working distributor. Every distributor is given a visual inspection before shipping as well.
