This distributor is equipped with a steel distributor gear. Steel gears are meant to be used with hydraulic roller camshafts equipped in some 1985 Mustangs and 1986+ Mustangs. Earlier Fox Bodies used cast iron distributor gears with their flat tappet camshafts. This distributor should be used when you have a hydraulic roller camshaft. If you have an aftermarket camshaft, consult the company that made the camshaft to ensure the correct gear is used. This distributor features OE quality, fit and function, plus all new critical rubber wear components are replaced. Computer testing is performed for quality and reliability, while testing ensures you receive a properly working distributor. Every distributor is given a visual inspection before shipping as well.
