Door Hinge Check Arm Lower Mustang 1965-1967

When opening your door on your 1965-1967 Mustang does the door stay open without any effort? If not it might be time to replace the lower door hinge check arm. This arm is located on either the Driver or Passenger side of the lower door hinge. This check arm features a cammed arm that allows the arm to roll on the door roller keeping the door open. The check arm has two different settings so you can open the door fully or half way.

This arm also includes a spring perch that allows the lower door hinge spring to keep tension on the arm. This arm is constructed out of a heavy gauge steel that will take the abuse from everyday use. If this check arm isn’t installed it could damage the fender or the door shell. This check arm is sold individually two are required per Mustang.

Please Note: Midway through 1967 Ford decided to change the lower door hinge to a tension rod instead of the check arm.
