California Residents: Proposition 65 Warning
This is the standard reproduction of the '64 - '70 brace we've carried for years. It mounts to the pinch weld below your cowl using four factory bolts here with three outside bolts from out underneath the shock tower caps. There's an additional stamping in here to create a little bit of strength to add strength to the brace. This is our new premium quality brace for your '64 - '70 Mustang. As you can see, the chrome finish is a much higher quality than the standard reproduction. The edging inside the stamping is also much deeper which is also going make it stronger. It also has a much sharper edge inside the cup that mounts underneath the shock tower cap creating additional strength on the tower. You lay them side by side you see how much deep the mounting surface is on the premium export brace. You also take note, the holes are equal distant from the center where on our reproduction piece it's very close to the center and could fail over time.
We've taken the liberty of cutting both of our export braces in half so we can show you the difference on how the metals actually stand. With the standard reproduction, you can see it has ridges but it's nearly flat. On our premium reproduction, the ridges are much more pronounced which will create much more strength in your breaks. We're out here in the shop with a '67 convertible recently restored by CJ Pony Service. We used the premium export brace on this car to see how well it fits back on your pinch weld, also how well it fits underneath the shock tower cap. The chrome brace works well with all the other polished surfaces in the engine to really make it pop. No matter what model of '64 - '70 Mustang you drive, an export brace is a good idea to stiffen up the front chassis. While this brace will do a good job, if you want something that fits better, has a nicer finish to it and is going to be stronger overall, I suggest checking out our premium export brace.
