Ford Performance Cold Air Intake Kit With Calibration EcoBoost 2015-2017 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Numbers are great Takes time for the car to learn the tune but when it does it definately wakes it up. The numbers are better or just a good as advertised. It does expose how bad the stock intercooler is. I dynoed my car after having the tune for 1000 miles. Made 283hp and 340ftlbs of torque. My dyno sheet is in the photo. It shows stock witha MAP catback. The second graph is with the Performance pack installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Power Drop at 4800 any more!! I love my Mustang, but hated the dreaded drop of power when getting to 4800/5000 RPM's. I wanted to try the install myself just to say I did it, so had my 13 year old with a tablet walk me thru the steps on YouTube for the CAI install. Then we downloaded the program for the time. Took us a few minutes to figure out what we were doing, but after reading all the instructions a couple of times, we figured it out. We had a blast doing the project together. Then, for the test drive. Good thing mom was not home. The power from 4k to 6k was noticeable right from the beginning. After reading other reviews, I can't wait to get a few hundred miles logged so the computer learns the system better. Very excited and very reasonable price for the upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Wow this thing is amazing. My 2016 ecoboost doesn't even seem like the same car. I took it and had my local Ford dealer instal it for warranty purposes and they had it in and out in no time. I would highly recommend it for anyone wanted some more power out of your ecoboost

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good performance gain that keeps your warranty. Update: Ford Performance Cold Air Intake Kit with a Calibration (P/N: M-9603-M4) Smooth linear power all the way to 6k! This program has finally impressed me. The power increase is significant and very noticeable. The car is not going to be faster than a GT but you will give one a run for the money. My son and I did a side by side comparison with a 2015 GT MT (cat back exhaust mod) with the Performance Package. My car is a 2015 EB MT with the Performance Package. My son drove my car while I drove the GT. From a dig my son got me due to some initial wheel spin on the GT. We ran the cars beyond 70 mph and while I was catching him I never passed him. I hated to lose but it was exciting to see the EB do so well. We tested rolling gear pulls in all gears but 6th. We noted the EB had greater performance when both cars were placed in 5th gear and did a run from 50-70 (we realize this is not a normal operation that can have potential consequences of high head temps, high egt, and detonation). The EB was faster and pulled easily with the improved torque. The only time I out ran the EB is when I hooked really well or we took off from a 20 mph roll. So my point is that if I catch a GT sleeping or an SS sleeping, they will not catch the EB until well past legal limits. Not bad for a 4cyl. I wanted to trade this (EB) car in on a V8 but now I am having second thoughts. I must inform you that this Ford program did not work out of the box. The car was slower and flat initially. I had to drive it nearly 200 miles before the computer "learned" the parameters. The car now pulls smoothly through 6k rpm. I also do not have that hard fall off of power if I tip too closely to redline. The kit was easy to install but the ProCal program seems a little cheap and not clear if you have downloaded the program correctly. I highly recommend reading the instructions thoroughly. I downloaded the program on my laptop before giving it to the mechanic to install. So I am happy and I get to keep my warranty. I am pleased to recommend this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Worry Free Tune! Really good power, quick low end torque and surprisingly top end feels stronger then ever. I came from a 93 custom tune waiting on this one and even tho it had that push you back in your seat feeling this Ford Performance Tune just seems to put it down smoother at rpm. You're probably wondering why I even purchased this tune since I already voided the warranty but to be honest I didn't purchase this for the warranty. This is my daily driver and I wanted something I could trust and still have fun with. I have no regrets and Ford did an excellent job with this tune. My only complaint is having to cut the cai for fitment. When spending this much money it should fit right out of the box. Also, I installed this cai and tune myself due to reasons mentioned above.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh yeah Yeap you can tell the difference in acceleration also gas mileage but for those of you that's into performance like me it's a nice upgrade to go for got this for my performance pack 16 ecoboost it's the best power pack to go with so you don't have to worry about warranty issues it's covered by ford as long as it's dealer installed call as many dealerships as possible for price checks some will try to get over on you

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ford Performance Tune I had the dealer install this since I still had a few years warranty on my car. Im not a racer but I wanted a little more out of this engine. Hard to tell much of a power difference but it seems to be smoother through the gears. If you plan to do a CAI then spring for a few extra bucks and get this tune. If you want to race it and don't have any warranty left then go with something else. Just my opinion. It works for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ecoboost maximized My friend and I both have 2016, manual trans ecoboost Mustangs. My friend has the Roush cold air intake (no tune) and I installed the M-9603-M4 Ford cold air intake and tune. The Roush and Ford cold air intakes are about identical, allowing us to evaluate the tune itself. After letting my car “learn” the tune for about 600 miles we tested both cars side-by-side and here are the results. Acceleration from 60 to 80 mph in 4th gear: the tuned ecoboost pulled away slowly at first but kept pulling away. Side-by-side tests in 2nd gear only, 3rd gear only, 4th gear only, and 5th gear only: the tuned Mustang pulled away immediately and kept pulling away strongly. Drag race from a dead stop to about 90 mph: what a blast! The tuned Mustang pulled ahead immediately and stayed ahead. Lots of wheelspin at launch lets you know that the car would be even quicker with wider rubber. I would not hesitate to street race anybody after the tune. Installation and warrantee: I installed the cold air intake. The Ford dealer installed the tune for $100. I e-mailed Ford the receipt for the purchase of the cold air intake & tune and the receipt for dealer installation and Ford got the warrantee in place, no problem. Caution: download the tune onto your own laptop before going to the dealer and ensure that the dealer installs the tune from your laptop, not theirs, because that laptop is where the new tune and the original factory tune are stored. If the dealer uses their laptop then the tune files get loaded onto their laptop and you lose control of them, maybe forever. The tune provides more power from launch to the redline. The factory tune stops pulling above 5000 rpm, but the new tune pulls happily over 6000 rpm. Passing power is significantly improved. Be advised: the tune does not provide a “dramatic” power increase. You will not be stunned and amazed by overwhelming power. It feels like the same car, just turned up a notch. It feels like V8 power. Results on the street, no prepped track, street tire pressure, no burnout before launch…Factory tune: best 1/8th mile was 9.2 seconds @ 79 mph; best 0-60 mph was 6.0 seconds. After the tune: best 1/8th mile is 9.0 seconds @ 81 mph; best 0-60 mph is 5.7 seconds. Wheelspin at launch limits these numbers. Sound: I thought the cold air intake would change the sound of the car, but it really didn’t. Gas mileage: after 800 miles on the tune, gas mileage continues to inch up slowly, indicating that it takes a long time for the car to fully learn the tune. Is it worth it? The tune requires 91+ octane, which is $0.50 more per gallon than 87 octane. For me that’s $230 more per year for gas. If I have the car 10 more years that’s $2300 more for gas + $600 for the tune + $100 installation = $3000 total. That’s $0.82 per day for the next 10 years. Yeah, it’s worth it.

How would i get a replacement filter if i wanted one. What's the part number and who can i order one from?

Asked by: avinashpotu
You would need to order a replacement air filter for a 2015-2018 Shelby GT350 from your local dealer or you can order P/N: KNF16 or P/N: M9601G from us. Those are both washable and reusable filters unlike the original paper filter.

Ford Performance Cold Air Intake Kit With Calibration EcoBoost 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: This is the 2017 EcoBoost Mustang we built for the Ford Performance Display At this year's SEMA show. Because it was a SEMA car, we couldn't show you all the installations as we were doing them. Now that the car debuted, we're going to go back and tell you about all of the modifications starting with this Ford Performance cold air intake.

This Ford Performance intake featured the bucket and the filter from the GT350 and then the proprietary coupler connected to the factory tubing for the EcoBoost Mustang. This will require a calibration which is available separately from Ford Performance.

To start the installation, we always have to remove the factory components. The easiest way to do this, you remove this bolt here, disconnect the clamp, remove this harness and pull this harness and pull the whole thing out as one assembly.

We're going to remove the air sensor and then also disconnect the wiring harness from the box. With that out of the way, now you can remove the entire air assembly.

The Ford Performance upgrade kit for the EcoBoost is basically a GT350 bucket and the inlet tube, so what you have to do is actually modify this to fit the factory one by cutting a slice here and another one at the end. Just like that.

Then we'll take our modified inlet, put it over the factory piece here and slide it on. This is the kit as it comes out the Ford Performance box. Like I said, this is a take-off from the Shelby but all we're going to be using is the bucket and that filter so the first thing we're going to do is remove the filter, then take apart the bucket to remove the pieces that we're not going to use.

Next, remove these 4 nuts to separate the air box. This part we will not be using. Now we'll move back to the car and put the bucket into place. You'll have to maneuver this a little bit to get it down in here but it will fit. Get it lined up with the scoop we installed earlier. To make for a little bit better fit before we install the adapter, we're going to cut this little tab off right here.

Now we're installing MAP sensor adapter. Then tighten it down. The kit includes a new I-AT sensor which you're going to install next. With the sensor installed, we're going to bring the wire over and plug that in. Then we're going to drill a small hole over here for the factory clips. With that done, we can now reinstall our filter.

Right now you can reinstall finally, the air seal. Then we'll finally make sure the box is where it belongs and reinstall the original bolt in the back to hold it down. Double check that your seal is fitted up here when that bolt's tightened down and your installation is finished.

It was truly an honor for Ford to choose CJ Pony Parts to build this car for their Ford Performance display at this year's SEMA show with high quality Ford Performance parts along with high quality parts from Anderson Composites and COBB we built a Mustang that we are truly proud of. If you're lucky enough to be attending this year's SEMA show, make sure you check out the Ford display and come check out our Mustang.
