I have a 1970 MACH 1 with a M code 351 4v 3 speed manual not sure what size my rear axle, is any way look at the rear axle and tell? Rear axle seal is leaking . Thanks

Asked by: Fk1969
You most likely have a 9 inch. Check for a tag on one of the studs that hold the carrier in. The 9 inch housing will be flat on the bottom where the carrier bolts in.

I've got a 67 289 AT with a standard rear end. I've got an axle seal leaking. Do I have 24 or 28 spline axles?

Asked by: Emile
Most likely it's a 28-spline axle. It's possible it's a 31-spline, but most early model cars were 28-spline, especially small block cars like yours.
