This Magnaflow Cat-Back System (19283) will include exhaust valves so it will function just as the original system does. Magnaflow uses the same valves that Ford sourced for the factory GT350 exhaust systems. The stock system closed sound is 92db, whereas Magnaflow¹s is 99db closed and 105db open. This kit will also include new traditional Magnaflow rolled tips.

When the sound passes through the Magnaflow Competition Mufflers it exists via a set of 4 inch tips with the Magnaflow logo etched in them. This is actually the bracket here for the factory valve, so just like the factory Shelby, it has an exhaust note for normal driving and then a much louder note for sport or track, where it opens up the secondary tip. The manifold works the same, it will work in place of the factory system. If you're wondering if this system will fit a GT with the 350 valance, unfortunately it will not, because the GT does not have this valve, this will not work properly.
The valve works kind of like a throttle body. When you have the car in normal mode, the exhaust only comes out one tip. When you flip it to sport or track mode, this valve opens up and now the sound comes out of both sides of the muffler, making it much louder and aggressive. In case you're not familiar with the factory exhaust on the GT350, the tips themselves are not attached to the exhaust, they're actually attached to the rear valance. When you're installing the Magnaflow system, remove the entire exhaust system, then you remove these from the valance as well, and replace it with the whole Magnaflow system. With high quality materials throughout and an aggressive distinct sound, this Magnaflow Competition Catback will be a great addition to your Shelby GT350.
