Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every GT350 should have these!!! I have been using Redline Tuning’s hood lifts since 1998 on several Mustangs, most currently on my 2016 GT350. Very high quality components, and easy detailed installation instructions. This system fits perfectly and only took me 20 minutes to install. The hole needed for the strut on the passenger side battery cover is barely noticeable and they even include the stepped drill bit! Hood raises a little higher than the ancient prop rod with no effort and stays put. The shocks give your engine compartment a very clean look and are absolutely worth $100, highly recommended!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Product I recently picked up these hood struts for my 2016 Mustang GT350. Delivery was early, the product packaging was practical and very sturdy, protecting the parts inside. The finish and quality of craftsmanship are worthy to be installed on the finest vehicle. The parts installed in about 10 minutes, with very easy to follow instructions. The struts do a great job of both assisting the opening of the hood as well as keeping the hood open and stable. At a cruise-in over the weekend, there was plenty of wind, but the struts held up and kept the hood open. I would recommend this product line to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Notch Coming from a BMW M4 to the Shelby GT350, hood struts are those things you take for granted in a high end car. The fact that the Shelby didn't come with them is a little odd but definitely glad that I installed these. They're super strong so just lifting up the hood slightly and the struts power the hood up the rest of the way. The install was really easy as well with no drilling required and only having to cut a slight notch in the battery cover. Overall this thing is worth it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits the GT 350 perfectly. After buying a Ford Licensed hood strut kit for the GT 350 and finding that it did not fit, I bought the Redline Tuning strut kit. It fits the GT 350 perfectly. Installation took about 20 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome quality product! I am really happy with the addition of the Redline hood struts to my new '17 GT350, they work perfectly and I've eliminated the stock hood-prop rod. Installation tip: the Redline struts come pretty stiff, work them in/out on your workbench before installation so you don't bend your hood pulling it down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I am very pleased with this product. Looks good and works great. Only problem was hole that is drilled in battery cover should be 1in. Instead of 3/4in.

I bought and install one of these Redline strut kid from you and I like to know how do you remove the struts from the ball head when I have to remove the batter cover to work on the battery please?

Asked by: SimonCH
Remove the metal clip at the end of the gas cylinder and pry the strut from the ball stud with a prying tool.

I dropped the red part of the fender bracket into the frame. Is there a way I could take it out?

Asked by: Allen
Try to find a rod that is bendable like a clothes hanger, put something sticky on the end to fish it out.

What is the difference between the Redline Tuning Hood Strut kit PLUS and the Redline Tuning Hood Strut kit Elite?

Asked by: csuar04
The ELITE has a stainless steel body and custom valving, the PLUS does not. But you cannot go wrong with either one.

After installing the strut kit, if battery cover needs to be removed, does the strut need to be popped off to remove the battery cover? And is it relatively easy to pop it off and will it compromise the lower strut connection on the battery side?

Asked by: Zero 260
The instruction sheet clearly explains that for this purpose, you can cut a straight line from the outside of the cover directly to the drilled hole and therefore alleviate the need for removing the shock for battery replacement. I did it on mine... And BTW, as mentioned above...the hole really should be 1" in diameter. The 3/4" hole is not quite enuf. ;-)
