This Pair of V-Series LED Headlight Bulbs (V5238-001) by Oracle Lighting features fcCSP Flip-Chip Scale LED Packaging. This technology comes with several advantages: enhanced electrical performance over standard wire-bond tech; smaller form factor due to increased routing density; and eliminated wire-bond loops. This results in a super-luminous, very efficient, and ultra-reliable light output. The design of the bulbs mimics the original factory halogen bulbs, allowing for quick and easy installation without additional wiring/drivers. Their die-cast design increases thermal conductivity and heat dissipation.

These bulbs (V5238-001) are compatible with vehicles that use the headlight bulb for the DRL function at reduced voltage. They can be used as Daytime Running Lights without flicker issues thanks to their 6-32V ultra-wide range voltage protection. Just like the factory bulb, they will dim to 50% brightness in DRL mode. They avoid issues of unreliability and installation difficulty by featuring SmartDrive Active Thermal Regulation (ATR) temperature management. This means an integrated constant current linear LED driver utilizes a “thermal foldback” system, protecting the LEDs and the bulb components.

The LED driver of these bulbs (V5238-001) operates from a 6V to 24V input and offers continual current output at up to one (1) Amp. The driver can reduce the current if the bulb becomes hot and exceeds optimal working temperature by altering the PWM duty cycle until the temperature steadies. Adding passive thermal management with such techniques can allow for a small bulb package without risking damage to the LED while also lengthening the LED’s lifetime. Reducing the current reduces luminosity, however, the human eye is incapable of detecting the reduction in luminosity in high-brightness devices. This allows the user to control the bulb’s temperature without compromising luminosity.
