The 2024 Ford Mustang delivers bold, aggressive styling right from the factory, but some owners are reporting inconsistent panel gaps around the front fenders. These panel gaps can cause the hood to flutter at speed and many owners are worried that something could happen. This is something that should be done by your dealer before the car gets delivered, but if that didn't happen, we're here to help.

Check out the how-to video below for more information.

How to Adjust the Hood on Your 2024 Mustang

More than a few 2024 Mustang owners had their ride delivered with a misaligned hood. At CJs, we have a 2024 Mustang GT Base and Premium that we make videos with, and the hood came misaligned on our GT Premium.

In order to fix this, you're going to want to open the hood and locate the two adjustable hood bumpers. These are found on the underside of the hood on either side.

Then, to adjust the hood fitment, simply turn the hood bumpers left or right. This extends or retracts the bumper to give you some height adjustability. You can find a good starting point for your adjustments by taking a quarter and sliding it into the hole that the bumper extends from. The bottom of the bumper should be even with the edge of the quarter like in the picture below.

Loosen or tighten the hood bumper a quarter turn at a time to really dial in the fitment of the hood. After each quarter turn, you should close the hood to see if it lines up. Repeat this process for both hood bumpers until you have it exactly how you want.

After you've aligned the hood to fit up with the front bumper, you shouldn't experience anymore fluttering at speed. This fluttering is caused by the hood being too low, so extend the bumpers to fix this issue.

How to Adjust the Front Fenders on Your 2024 Mustang

Adjusting the front fenders is just as easy as adjusting the hood. However, you are going to need a 10mm socket wrench. First, you're going to want to loosen the bolt shown below.

Then, you should be able to move the fender back and forth to adjust the fitment. Once you're happy with where it sits, tighten the bolt until it's snug but not completely tight. Then, close the hood and check for fitment with the hood. If you're happy with it, open the hood again and tighten the bolt all the way down. This will lock the fender into place. Repeat this on the other side and your front fenders will be properly aligned.

Dial In Panel Fitment With Ease

In a perfect world, you'll never have to align the front fenders and hood on your 2024 Mustang. However, it's a simple job that can be done in well under an hour if the factory and dealership overlooked it.
