Are these intended to be used IN ADDITION to the regular nuts as lock nuts? My 69 developed a looseness in the front suspension & I found one of the adjustment nuts had backed off about 3/8". Very scary! I had poly bushings but am gonna go to HD rubber.

Yes you should use a jam nut.
