Product Description

CJ Pony Parts 10.5" King Cobra Style Clutch Kit for 1986-2001 V8 Mustangs.

Features: This is a great clutch for cars with up to 350 rear wheel horsepower. It has great wear characteristics and a lighter pedal than most high performance clutches, so if you want a better than stock clutch with a stock feel than this is for you.

Specifics: The pressure plate is made from nodular iron, the clutch disc has a sprung hub for shock absorption and smooth operation, and is made slightly thinner for quicker release.

Includes: Clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool.

Please Note: 2001 Mustang Owners must check the Trans code on their data tag to verify which transmission they have. If it says 6 this clutch kit will work. If it says K then this clutch kit will not work.

*Does not fit 1999 or 2001 Cobras.
*One thing to note of this clutch is that some 1986-1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L Bellhousings will possibly need to have the area "trimmed" in between the bottom/center and clutch release lever hole. Ford had two foundries make their bellhousings and only one has this issue, it is most common on 1989-1990 bellhousings. For some reason, the bellhousings from the one foundry had a raised "lip" that can cause contact/interference with the Pressure Plate. The area around the inside of the bellhousing needs to be trimmed approximately 8-10MM.

CJ Pony Parts Clutch Kit 10.5" King Cobra Style V8 1986-2001 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from A very strange clutch. I replaced my stock clutch with this one. First right off the bat, the clutch kicked like a mule after installing it. Releasing it at 1 centimeter per second, the car would lunge forward with incredible first. After maybe 20 miles of use it went away for the most part. I am writing this 6 months later to say this clutch is now dead. Slips like mad, and is burned, that is my guess. I don't even know how, I put LESS THAN 1,000 miles on it, it's already having trouble, that makes no sense. Perhaps it may be something to do with the adjustment, I'll have to find out, but its already failed after less than 1,000 miles so I would try to settle for a better product instead of this, it isn't worth a couple of bucks off.

Product Questions

I need to find the correct clutch kit for a 1974 351W engine mated with a Tremec T5 transmission. Please advise should I have an 10 1/2 or 11" clutch kit?

Asked by: Social
As long as you're less than 350 horsepower and willing to do some customization, this would work. We did a similar installation on a 1967 convertible with a Windsor engine. The video is on the product page for this clutch kit to give you an idea of how it all works.

Hello, i have a 1980's fox with a T5 transmission but im not sure what year the T5 is, do you think it would fit? or is it only for specific years?

Asked by: Jaay
It only fits 1986-1993 Foxes, so you'd have to figure out whether it's from that year range or not. If your T5 is from a later Mustang, you might be good too, depending on year.

What's the actual part number for this clutch?

Asked by: jesussbf302
That part number is CK110. It's manufactured for CJ's and branded as such, so it only has our part number.

Is this a stock replacement clutch? Or is part number M7560C302 better ?

Asked by: jesussbf302
We recommend CK110, which is a better than stock replacement.

I have a 2001 Bullitt. Short of crawling under it, will it work? If you need the info, where on the tranny is it located?

Asked by: Deuce
Check out the "bonus video" on the product page. While that install is on a 1967 convertible, it uses the same transmission as your 2001, and should give you a good idea of the process.
