If your manual transmission in your 1965-1973 Mustang isn’t working properly, check out the throw out bearing and see if the fingers on your pressure plate are working properly which disengages the clutch.
National uses premium materials and a precise manufacturing process that results in consistent reliability. This classic bearing design matches the OE specifications of the original throw out bearings used in 1965-1973 Mustangs. This new throw out bearing from National will keep the clutch lever moving smoothly and functioning properly, so there is no second guessing that your clutch is engaged correctly. Also, high grade steel is used in the fabrication process that will ensure rugged durability and a trusted, long lasting performance.
Please Note: This throw out bearing is designed for use with diaphragm style pressure plate, will not work with 3 finger style.
This National Throw Out Bearing will fit all 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973 V8 Mustangs which fits directly in place to aid in keeping all the components of the clutch moving and rotating. However, this throw out bearing will not fit any big block engine sizes from 1965-1973, such as the 427, 428 and 429.
If you are removing and installing a new clutch kit, it is recommended that you replace the throw out bearing at this time. This can help you avoid the headache of having to tear apart the entire transmission when a malfunctioning, broken or missing throw out bearing is discovered down the road.
