Product Questions

looking for a muffler to replace stock one on my 1966 mustang 6 cyl but to have a nicer/louder sound than the stock one. Can we achieve that without going to duals?

Asked by: joemama
You would have to measure the stock muffler and pipe sizes and find an aftermarket muffler that meats those dimensions.

How loud is this muffler is it a 40,60 or 80 series?

Asked by: acapulco7
It is a standard replacement muffler and designed to maintain the original sound. It is not a 40, 60 or 80 series.

What is the most quiet muffler available for a 65 289? I have conv., and I have had flow masters that echoed and made terrible noise , when driving at 40-50 mph. Want something that is SILENT.

Asked by: factoryman2000
You'll want something that's labeled as being an OEM replacement for the 289. Typically, OEM replacements are going to be the quietest options out there - aftermarket mufflers tend to increase the volume.

Are these mufflers noisy? I had a pair put on a few years back, when the motor is running, you cant hear your self think. Please advise. Anthony

Asked by: Martie
The volume will be similar to stock, but it is not intended to match the original volume/tone.

What are the dimensions of this muffler, length, width & Height is fine. I know it needs 2-1/4 pipes. Are these mufflers designed to give close to stock sound? I do not want turbo or loud mufflers, just original stock sound.

Asked by: Bobbie
The inlet is 2 1/4" offset, outlet is 2 1/4" center. The body is 5" x 9 1/4", with a length of 12". The overall length is 18". This is considered an aftermarket replacement. The volume will be similar to stock, but it is not intended to be the original volume/tone.
