- Installation Instructions
These compression molded pieces of rubber feature a steel insert with glued corners for long lasting rigidity. They also come with welded-on mounting studs for installing the weatherstrip to the convertible top frame.
The convertible top header weatherstrip is the weatherstripping that runs along the front edge of the convertible top and seals against the top of the windshield header. The center rail weatherstripping runs along the center section of the convertible top frame and keeps a seal against the window glass. The side rail weatherstrip runs along the back, side sections of the convertible top frame and seals against the window glass.
*Installation hardware (tube nuts and washers) is not included.
Please Note: Mounting studs may vary in size from the original weatherstrip.
If your 1965-1968 convertible Mustang still has the original weatherstripping, chances are good that it might be in horrible shape after nearly 50 years of exposure to the elements. Cracked and brittle weatherstripping is pretty common. CJ Pony Parts can help you fix that, with brand new pieces of weatherstrip and weatherstrip kits that can fit every classic Mustang, no matter what year it was manufactured or what body style it is. Order now to keep water out of your 1965-1968 convertible Mustang!

On my 66 Mustang, when I replace the convertible top weather-strip with the new kit, wsct1, do I need to replace the hardware also, hw1647 and hw1648? Are these damaged removing the old weather-strip? Do you have a video of this?
